Our Mission Statement
Be a member of the Downtown Garden District
Annual membership was
discussed at the June Garden District meeting. The consensus was
that a few residents were paying for all the costs associated with
advertising, printing, park fees, and other expenses incurred by the
Garden District every year. It was decided that we would start a
membership drive to cover those expenses, as well as funding
additional projects in the future. Beginning September 1, 2008, we
will collect annual fee of $20 from those residents who wish to be a
part of helping the Garden District continue to be a “unified voice”
in addressing concerns regarding our wonderful neighborhood.
The Garden District’s unified voice was instrumental in preserving
Sorenson School, which now has become hugely successful as a magnet
school. We will continue to monitor and take
a proactive role in addressing such issues as they arise.
As an incentive to increase membership, between now and November 1,
a one-time $5.00 rebate will be paid to those members who bring in a
new member. There is no limit as to how many new members an existing
member may enroll.
New members must reside within the Garden District boundaries (4th
St. to 11th St; Sherman to Montana).
